Took the heads to the shop. When the machinist took the measurements he said it was pretty obvious and made the necessary adjustments. If you go back through my old posts you will find that I even tried to recognize the problem beforehand using an oscilloscope with moderate success. The CAS measurement itself -- which directly impacts timing -- seemed erratic. Timing is extremely sensitive to CAS inconsistencies! I don't see how the JWT cam has anything to do with this. Your stuff doesn't look that worn. In my case I had a fair amount of rust but not like Woody's picture. Are you sure the CAS isn't in any way moving? How much is timing "moving"? If misalignment is your problem unfortunately you'll have almost no way to confirm that's you problem beforehand and will eventually have to make the call when to dig into the engine. Go in only as a last resort.
